Kassel. Very much alike every other German post-war neo-industrial efficiency-driven city.
No palmtrees, only serialized buildings and their matching small parks.
Documenta as its artificial heart, beating every 5 years for 100 days and then trembling on its own echoes. People passing by.
The smell of bakeries, Kassler Rib und Sauerkraut. Stereotypes ahoy.
In the Halle I start reading the many magazines. Texts, images, some sounds, dizzying rhythms.
The fine people from Natural Selection have a morning talk in the Halle.
Zooming around the exhibition(s), d12 feels like a giant miniature art-world. Great art and artists, all apparently in progress.
But nonetheless the imminent and overwhelming feeling of sterility. Everything has been foreseen, and what hasn't been foreseen has to be neglected.
Our living newspaper tries to escape this due to many efforts and corporate overtime.
Then it hit me; astma slowing me down to a halt. Recovering.
Later, dancing in a small sweaty room. Lolita Bar looks like a scene from a Derrick episode. Stuck in the eighties.
Ntone is using his charm on the turntables and the magazines crew is shaking their magazines hips.
I had to go out. I walked.
On the small bed I watched Henry Miller's "Quiet Days In Clichy". Loving it.
A time when cunt was in the air. Light enters the room.
I'm reading Kafka.
